A New Standard in Beauty & Barbering Education

Welcome to 360 Degrees Beauty Academy #1 — where education, creativity, and opportunity come together in the beauty and barbering industries. Our journey began on October 13, 2004, in Houston, Texas, built on passion, purpose, and a commitment to changing lives through education.

Our founder, Llyasah Dupree, began her beauty career in Baltimore, Maryland in 1996. Driven by her vision and love for the industry, she returned in 2001 with a clear goal — to transform her salon into a learning institution. In 2004, that vision became reality with the launch of our beauty academy.

At 360, we are not only training beauty and barbering professionals — we are building confidence, discipline, and a “boss mentality” in every student. We believe our students are future business owners and industry leaders, and that mindset is at the core of everything we do.

In 2009, we expanded with the addition of our barbering program, becoming 360 Degrees Beauty and Barber Academy #1 while continuing to grow our original identity. Both programs share the same mission — to provide students with a strong foundation in hair, skin, and nail care, while preparing them for state licensing and real career opportunities.

Our students gain hands-on experience by providing services to the public under the supervision of licensed instructors, all at discounted rates. This real-world training prepares them for success beyond the classroom and into their careers.

To further support student success, 360 has developed its own 360 PSI final exam, which each student must pass before graduation. This exam is designed to reinforce classroom learning and closely mirrors the structure and expectations of the official state TDLR PSI exam, helping students build confidence and readiness for licensure.

We are proud that nine out of ten of our students pass their state licensing examinations on their first attempt, reflecting our dedication to strong instruction, preparation, and student achievement.
